PROPERONI is the UK's first dedicated pepperoni brand, offering premium restaurant-quality pepperoni for at-home enjoyment. Crafted by Estom, a supplier to leading pizza restaurants for decades, Properoni products are naturally cured and fermented with the best cuts of meat. With a commitment to quality and flavour, Properoni is on a mission to rid the world of mediocre pepperoni!

Role Description

As our Business Development Executive (reporting to the Commercial Director), you’ll be the external face of PROPERONI, driving brand growth by securing new listings and expanding our presence in the Out of Home channel (e.g. restaurants, cafes, pubs, hotels, and leisure venues). You’ll manage and nurture existing B2B accounts, identify and convert new business opportunities, and build strategic partnerships to boost brand visibility. This role is hands-on and field-focused, requiring a proactive, entrepreneurial approach and the ability to build strong relationships with industry decision-makers. What you'll do

  • Grow and strengthen existing B2B relationships, including managing trade customers who order via our Shopify platform.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Out of Home (OOH) sector, using creative outreach methods and industry networking to introduce PROPERONI and convert leads into customers.
  • Build strategic partnerships with key accounts and develop activation plans to increase brand visibility, such as securing menu placements and branded promotions.
  • Plan and optimise field visits, with flexibility to travel to other cities as needed.
  • Provide regular account updates to your line manager and maintain accurate records using CRM tools.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers, resolving issues and delivering timely solutions to ensure satisfaction.
  • Gather and share market feedback and insights to help shape business strategy and inform new product development.
  • Calculate margins and pricing, with a strong understanding of market dynamics and pricing structures across channels.
  • Analyse raw data in Excel to extract actionable insights and inform your sales strategy.
  • Contribute to monthly sales forecasting and closely track your performance against targets.
  • Represent PROPERONI at trade shows and deliver product training as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar FMCG field sales/business development/account management role
  • Proven track record of new business development, lead generation and sales success
  • High energy and strong people skills allowing you to build rapport and relationships quickly
  • Skilled at analysing raw data, extracting insights, and turning them into actionable strategies
  • Strong negotiation and networking abilities
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Confident using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience in the food industry or consumer goods is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
