Status: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Grade: Grade 9 (£46,142 to £49,282)

About the Role

Harborough District Council has invested in its Business Centres Harborough Innovation Centre (HIC) and Harborough Enterprise Centre (HEC) to support innovative, early‑stage companies in the East Midlands.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Centres Manager to lead a professional team, manage the facilities and provide tailored business growth support for its businesses whilst attracting and generating new business. The postholder will ensure a professional, practical and comprehensive support service is provided to clients at both HIC and HEC.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a professional team and manage facilities at HIC and HEC.
  • Provide tailored business growth support to clients, including mentoring, training, networking opportunities and access to office space, meeting rooms, conference facilities and virtual office services.
  • Attract and generate new business for the centres.
  • Manage a large budget, generate income and support clients in a business‑to‑business environment.
  • Collate and analyse data to produce reports and recommendations for the Corporate and Senior Management Team.
  • Use MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) competently.
  • Work independently, solve problems, adapt to changing circumstances and occasionally work outside normal office hours.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Relevant HND / degree (e.g. Business, Management, Finance, Law) or equivalent aptitude.
  • Experience in a similar role, generating income, supporting B2B clients, managing a team and a large budget.
  • Excellent sales, customer service, leadership and communication skills.
  • Professional, proactive, conscientious, high motivation and initiative.
  • Ability to adopt a flexible approach and work independently.
