A local government authority based in Dundee is seeking a professional to support construction projects and ensure compliance with building standards. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications and experience within the construction industry. Key responsibilities include assisting the Team Leader in meeting statutory functions and promoting high customer care standards. This role offers a full-time position with 37 hours per week in a dynamic and ambitious work environment.

The Building Standards Team has a key role in transforming the City and has been heavily involved in the delivery of the £1 billion project to transform Dundee into a world-leading waterfront destination. A key component of this project was the successful delivery of the Kengo Kuma-designed V&A Dundee, which has attracted international attention. Further exciting and complex construction development opportunities lie ahead, with some forming part of the £300 million Tay Cities Deal. The Eden Project Dundee is a further example of Dundee's bold and creative ambition. You can be part of this exciting journey, helping to facilitate these opportunities and ensure construction developments within the City are designed and built to meet safety standards, further sustainable development and energy efficiency. You will be based in Dundee House, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

You will have experience in all aspects of the Building Standards role, in the construction industry, sound knowledge of the Building Scotland Act and associated statutory instruments and knowledge of working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Office 365, Word, Excel, Teams. You will have the ability to communicate effectively; verbally and in writing the ability to prioritise workloads, meeting challenges and deadlines, committed to a high standard of customer care and a methodical approach to problem solving with sound organisational skills. You will have commitment to further personal development and training. A driving licence is required.
