Job summary

Amey invites applications for a permanent Structures Engineer (Bridges) based in Stafford with hybrid working and shared office space. You will join the Consulting Structures Team and collaborate with Senior Engineers on diverse bridge schemes, guiding junior staff and delivering technically sound solutions.

You will work across design, calculations, drawings and documentation while upholding quality, cost and programme constraints.

Qualifications

• Developed experience within the structures field, possibly in an Assistant Engineer role or equivalent.
• Familiar with technical standards (DMRB, Eurocodes) and best practice guidance (CIRIA).
• Able to prepare deliverables and check them to a reasonable standard.
• Knowledge of CDM and risk assessment applied to design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Produce technically sound engineering solutions.
• Take ownership and support management and technical delivery of projects from start to finish.
• Prepare designs, calculations, drawings and scheme deliverables to meet quality, cost and programme criteria.
• Guide junior staff and contribute to their development.
• Liaise with client and supplier representatives and attend progress meetings.
• Work within a locally based technical team and deliver activities within a scheme portfolio.
• Contribute to bids and business development activities.
• Promote health and safety best practices within the team.
• Apply sustainability practices in engineering and project delivery.
• Demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder management.
