Job summary

AECOM in Newcastle is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Civil & Structural Engineering Apprentices to join our Bridges team. You’ll gain hands-on experience from concept to implementation on local, national, and international projects, developing skills in CAD, design, and project administration.

The role offers a hybrid work model, exposure to cutting-edge technology, and a clear pathway toward EngTech and IEng status with ICE or IStructE as you progress.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including Maths and English at minimum five subjects.
• Three A-Levels (Maths and Physical Science) or equivalent for Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.
• Some engineering experience or shadowing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce CAD drawings for projects.
• Support structural design and desktop publishing tasks.
• Assist with project administration and record-keeping.
• Review and analyse data to support design decisions.
• Contribute to problem-solving and design solutions.
• Participate in site visits to observe conditions.
• Aim to achieve EngTech and later IEng status with ICE/IStructE.
