Job summary

Accor in Cardiff is seeking a passionate Commis chef to join our fast-paced kitchen. You’ll learn, grow, and contribute to delivering high-quality dishes to our guests.

This role offers the chance to work within a renowned hospitality group, with opportunities to develop culinary skills and participate in maintaining brand standards across departments. We look for a team player with at least 1 year in a commercial kitchen; hotel experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Experience within a hotel environment is an advantage.
• Available to work various rostered shifts.
• Understanding of safety and manual handling requirements.
• Remain calm and effective in high volume work situations.
• Be a good team player; contribute to and assist co-workers without being asked.
• Flexibility to work a rotating rota on mornings and be able to start as early at 4:30 am.

Responsibilities

• Running your section with confidence, efficiency, and consistency.
• Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to recipe and brand standards.
• Supporting smooth service with strong organisation and a sense of urgency.
• Monitoring stock, minimising waste, and maintaining cost awareness.
• Working collaboratively across kitchen sections to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
• Maintaining impeccable food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards.
