Job summary

Kemp Recruitment is seeking a Breakdown Controller in Halifax to oversee maintenance, repair and breakdown activities while delivering excellent customer service. You will log repair requests, schedule Field Service Engineers, and keep customers updated on progress.

This permanent role is 3.5 days per week (39.75 hours) with a salary of £28,000 and a benefits package including pension, life cover and health plans.

Qualifications

• Experience gained in a similar role is required.
• Knowledge of the HGV sector would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer calls, log repair requests and respond to service enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Schedule and coordinate Field Service Engineers, adjusting resources to meet changing customer and business requirements.
• Maintain regular communication with customers providing updates on job progress and completed or outstanding service work.
• Accurately record service jobs, vehicle parts sales and service documentation within internal systems.
• Liaise with the Service Supervisor, Service Manager and technical team to resolve issues and ensure efficient service delivery.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support service operations, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide administrative support to the service team and undertake additional duties as required to meet business needs of Field Service Engineering resource according to capacity and geographical location.
