Job summary

Plumb Centre in Carmarthen is seeking a Branch Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations, supervise staff, and support trade customers. You will develop the customer base, drive retention, and contribute to profit improvements.

The role involves stock handling and a mix of sales and service duties in a busy branch. The position requires prior supervisory experience in a face-to-face sales environment, willingness to cover in the manager’s absence, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory role within a face-to-face sales environment is essential.
• Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager with day-to-day operations.
• Supervise and train colleagues; provide guidance and feedback.
• Serve customers at the trade counter with product knowledge.
• Develop and expand the customer base; improve retention and satisfaction.
• Identify ways to improve profits and build rapport with suppliers.
• Handle general warehouse duties: goods in/out, picking and packing heavy items.
• Ensure branch policies and procedures are followed; cover for Branch Manager when absent.
• Make outbound sales calls to win new business; be a team player in a diverse role.

Job description

• Assisting the Branch Manager with the day to day running and operations within the branch and take charge when they are not available
• Supervise and support colleagues, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to achieve targets and goals
• Serving customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge
• Develop the customer base, improve retention, satisfaction, product mix, and range
• Identify and recommend ways to improve profits
• Building rapport with suppliers
• General warehouse duties including, goods in & out, picking and packing customer orders (this will involve manual handling heavy stock i.e., toilets, sinks, boilers, and radiators)
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures As a Branch Supervisor based in Carmarthen, you'll be responsible for, Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable
• Prior experience as a Supervisor within a Face to Face sales environment is essential
• Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Managers absence
• Someone who is comfortable making outbound sales calls to customers to gain new business
• To be a team player who is happy to take on a diverse role to carry out all jobs in the branch to ensure it runs smoothly
