Job summary

Wolseley UK’s Plumb Centre in Carmarthen is seeking a Branch Supervisor to lead daily branch operations, assist the Branch Manager, supervise staff, and drive sales and customer satisfaction on the trade counter. The role involves building the customer base, managing stock, and coordinating with suppliers, with 40 hours weekly, plus Saturday rota.

Qualifications

• Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable.
• Prior experience as a Supervisor within a Face to Face sales environment is essential.
• Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Manager's absence.
• Comfortable making outbound sales calls to customers to gain new business.
• Team player who is happy to take on a diverse role to ensure smooth branch operations.
• Strong work ethic and a positive, enthusiastic attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Branch Manager with the day to day running and operations within the branch and take charge when they are not available
• Supervise and support colleagues, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to achieve targets and goals
• Serving customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge
• Develop the customer base, improve retention, satisfaction, product mix, and range
• Identify and recommend ways to improve profits
• Building rapport with suppliers
• General warehouse duties including, goods in & out, picking and packing customer orders (this will involve manual handling heavy stock)
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Branch Manager with the day to day running and operations within the branch and take charge when they are not available

• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures

This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 5.00pm and Saturday on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.
