Job summary

Nationwide is recruiting a Customer Representative for the Chard, Somerset branch. You will assist customers face to face, on the phone and online with everyday transactions and guidance on banking services and digital tools. Join a branch team delivering friendly, secure service.

The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, full-time (35 hours, Monday to Saturday). A commute within 45 minutes of the branch is expected, with initial training and ongoing support provided.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in person or over the phone.
• Ability to guide customers with clarity and care.
• Comfortable using digital banking tools and channels.
• Willingness to work 35 hours per week, Mon–Sat, in a branch.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers into the branch and understand their needs, offering trusted, friendly help with banking.
• Handle a range of transactions and queries accurately, while prioritising security and fairness.
• Guide customers through banking products and services that are right for them, helping them manage their money with confidence.
• Work closely with colleagues in a busy branch environment to deliver excellent customer service during peak times.
• Take responsibility for doing things the right way, following processes and escalating concerns when needed to protect customers and Nationwide.
