Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Customer Representative for our Swindon branch. You’ll assist customers in person, over the phone, and online, handling transactions, answering queries, and guiding customers toward suitable banking services and digital tools.

You’ll be part of a local branch team, helping keep high-street banking accessible and meaningful. The role requires a flexible, customer-focused personality with strong communication skills and comfort with technology; no prior banking experience

Qualifications

• No banking experience required; customer service experience helps.
• Demonstrates patience, empathy and strong people skills.
• Able to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Confident using technology and digital services.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers into the branch and understand their needs to offer trusted help with banking.
• Handle a range of transactions and queries accurately while prioritising security and fairness.
• Guide customers through banking products and services suitable for their situation.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service, even at peak times.
• Follow processes, spot potential issues, and escalate concerns to protect customers and Nationwide.
• Keep face-to-face banking meaningful and accessible on the high street.
