Job summary

Nationwide in Portsmouth is seeking a Customer Representative to support customers in branch, over the phone and online, handling everyday transactions and guiding customers to digital tools that simplify money management.

This is a permanent, full-time role (35 hours per week, Monday–Saturday) with a 45-minute commute tolerance. Training lasts three weeks and applicants should expect a busy, friendly branch environment.

Qualifications

• No banking experience required, but experience or a passion for customer service helps you thrive.
• Able to welcome customers, handle a range of transactions and queries, and use digital tools with care and accuracy.
• You stay calm and adaptable in a fast-paced branch environment, delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers into the branch and understand their needs to offer trusted, friendly help with banking.
• Handle a range of transactions and queries accurately, while prioritising security and fairness.
• Guide customers through banking products and services that suit their needs and help them manage their money.
• Work with colleagues to deliver excellent service, even at peak times.
• Follow processes, spot issues, and escalate concerns to protect customers.
• Keep face-to-face banking meaningful and accessible on the high street, with care and confidence.
