Job summary

Stevenswood Trade Counters Ltd is seeking a Branch Assistant for our Stockport branch to deliver outstanding customer service and support across daily operations. You will work closely with colleagues to maintain service standards, stock accuracy, and efficient branch presentation.

The role emphasises customer-facing responsibilities, numeracy and literacy skills, and proactive sales support. It includes a 39-hour week with early Friday finish and opportunities to represent the company

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer service abilities and a professional approach
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills for everyday tasks
• Ability to interpret quotes and orders and communicate clearly
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and colleagues
• Proactive in driving sales and supporting branch targets

Responsibilities

• Maintain customer database and keep information up to date
• Assist with end of day banking and reporting
• Keep branch standards: organisation, efficiency and cleanliness
• Keep customers updated on orders, quotes and promotions
• Assist manager with information collation and delivery
• Assist customers with all aspects of their accounts
• Take cash payments in line with company procedures
• Contribute to achieving branch KPI targets
• Maintain knowledge of products and promotions
• Proactively drive sales and contact existing or lapsed customers
• Be an ambassador for the company and mentor new colleagues
• Own the customer experience from enquiry to installation
• Use industry software to generate customer quotes
• Ensure efficient stock management and avoid unnecessary storage
• Deliver excellent service aligned with the company vision
• Assist with stock picking and loading for dispatch
• Follow company procedures and safety guidelines
• Perform other reasonable instructions
