A leading UK farming organization in Tonedale is seeking a specialist to contribute to Bovine TB control measures. The role includes managing a significant badger vaccination project and advising farmers. Candidates should possess a relevant degree, agricultural experience, and strong communication skills. The position offers a salary of £34,000 plus benefits including a car or allowance, generous holidays, and enhanced parental leave.
Working Hours: Core Hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 0900 - 1700. Due to the nature of the role, there will be a need for flexibility around working hours, to include some unsociable hours in the evening.
Working as part of the TB team, you'll be contributing to the delivery of the NFU's strategic aim of eradicating Bovine TB. Whilst providing specialist advice, knowledge and support to NFU colleagues and members on a variety of TB control measures and helping to manage the effect on individual farm businesses, your role will also have a particular focus in co‑ordinating the delivery of a large-scale badger vaccination project in the Southwest.
Working closely with landowners, farmers and other key stakeholders, you'll play a critical role in the project planning, co‑ordination, delivery and reporting, bringing together results to help influence and develop an evidence‑based approach to future delivery.
With a relevant degree and proven expertise and experience in your specialist area, you'll ideally have an agricultural background and will be used to working with farmers or food producers. You'll be an articulate communicator and negotiator with a keen eye for detail and the ability to research, analyse and collate complex issues clearly. With a can‑do attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, you'll be comfortable developing successful professional networks. You'll also be an inspirational and motivational leader and problem solver, with the ability to manage project teams and prioritise your work.
