Overview

Your new company We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage client accounts from initial bookkeeping through to trial balance and ensure compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.

This role involves working closely with clients to maintain accurate financial records, prepare VAT returns, and transition clients to digital accounting platforms.

Your new role
  • Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients.
  • Record all financial transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • Prepare accounts up to trial balance, including journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts when required.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) by onboarding clients to approved digital platforms (e.g., Xero).
  • Liaise with clients to gather financial information and resolve queries.
  • Provide training and guidance on digital accounting systems.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
