Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to work with secondary students in Burnley, providing behavioural support and helping pupils aged 11–16 overcome barriers to learning.

The role involves supporting in small groups, de-escalation, mentoring and delivering tailored educational packages. Experience with SEMH and EHCPs is valued, with opportunities for permanent roles after probation.

Qualifications

• Be confident in behaviour management to de-escalate threatening or aggressive behaviour.
• Mentor and engage with students delivering tailored educational packages.
• Resilient, empathetic, patient and able to handle challenging situations.
• Desirable to have experience in a specialist school setting.

Responsibilities

• Support in small classes (Year 7–11) with behaviour management and learning support.
• Deliver designed educational packages to help students overcome barriers to learning.
• Assist pupils aged 11–16, some with EHCPs for SEMH, Autism or ADHD.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive environment and safeguarding compliance.
