Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting a Behaviour Support Assistant to work in Burnley with secondary students aged 11–16, including those with SEMH needs and related conditions. The role focuses on behaviour management and supporting learning in small classes of 8 or fewer pupils.

The ideal candidate will be empathetic, patient and resilient, with experience in mentoring and delivering tailored educational packages.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting students with SEMH needs is desirable.
• Desirable to have experience in a specialist school setting.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in small classes (Year 7–11).
• Deliver specially designed educational packages for individual learners.
• De‑escalate threatening or aggressive behaviour using proven techniques.
• Assist pupils with barriers to learning and progress.
