Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to work in secondary schools in Burnley, supporting pupils aged 11–16 with SEMH and behaviour needs. You will help in small groups (up to 8) across Year 7–11, using de‑escalation techniques and tailor-made educational packages.

There is potential for permanent placement after a qualifying period. Vision for Education offers competitive PAYE pay, training, and ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.

Qualifications

• Be confident in behaviour management skills to de‑escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour.
• To mentor and engage with the students, delivering specifically designed educational packages.
• You will need to be resilient, empathetic, patient and not take things too personally.

Responsibilities

• De-escalate threatening or aggressive behaviour to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Mentor and engage with pupils, delivering designed educational packages.
• Support Year 7–11 pupils in small groups to overcome barriers to learning.
