About you

Our Allied Health team is seeking a passionate, flexible andprofessional Behaviour Support Practitioner with therapeuticknowledge and experience for our growing practice. You will havequalifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science orrelevant field and experience developing, writing and implementingPositive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs) a current registration oreligibility for registration with the Australian Social WorkAssociation and experience developing, writing and implementingPositive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs)

The role

The role of a Behaviour Support Practitioner is to develop,implement and evaluate positive behaviour management plansincluding strategies and recommendations to support people withcomplex needs and behaviours of concern to achieve positiveoutcomes; with the aim of reducing and or eliminating restrictivepractices.

You will provide information, guidance and training usingevidence-based, person-centred approaches to support individuals toachieve their personal goals whilst maintaining choice and control.You will provide individual counselling and therapy across thelifespan.

Essential Selection Criteria
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, SocialScience or relevant field and experience developing, writing andimplementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs)
  • Demonstrated experience and well developed skills in workingeffectively with children, young people or adults with a range ofdisability, Mental health and / or complex behavioural needs
  • Ability to work as a team member to consult, and work withstaff to support children, young people and adults who present withcomplex behaviours or behaviours of concern
  • Experience in providing training of behaviour managementstrategies, working closely with individuals, families, carers,guardians and others
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
  • Current NSW Drivers licence.
  • Current WWCC or the willingness to obtain
  • Current Police Check or the willingness to obtain
  • Current NDIS Worker Check
  • Covid 19 Vaccination
Desirable Criteria
  • Demonstrated experience in Out of Home Care sector
  • Demonstrated experience or ability to work in MentalHealth
  • Experience providing behaviour support supervision to internaland external stakeholders
  • Strong group facilitation skills and / or training skills
