Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a confident, resilient and enthusiastic Behaviour & Sports Mentor to support pupils within specialist education provisions across Carmarthenshire.

These settings support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, autism, anxiety and barriers to mainstream education. Staff foster structured, nurturing environments where pupils develop confidence and life skills.

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in sports coaching and mentoring to support pupils.
• Ability to work with pupils with additional learning needs in specialist settings.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with pupils, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Using sport, fitness and physical activities to encourage engagement and emotional regulation
• Delivering positive interventions and mentoring support throughout the school day
• Acting as a positive role model and trusted adult
• Supporting pupils to manage behaviour and develop coping strategies
• Encouraging participation, confidence and self-esteem
• Working alongside teaching and pastoral teams to provide consistent support
• Building meaningful relationships that help pupils achieve their potential

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a confident, resilient and enthusiastic Behaviour & Sports Mentor to support pupils within specialist education provisions across Carmarthenshire.

These settings support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, autism, anxiety and barriers to mainstream education. Staff are dedicated to creating structured, nurturing environments where pupils can develop confidence, resilience and positive life skills.

You will support pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation, engagement and behaviour, helping them build positive relationships and develop strategies to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Sport, physical activity and mentoring play a key role in supporting pupils' wellbeing, confidence and engagement.
