Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant to support a pupil with additional learning needs in a specialist SEN setting in Newport.

The role involves fostering a patient, nurturing approach to help the student engage with learning, develop social skills, and reach their full potential, using sports and interests to motivate progress.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• EWC registration required (Education Workforce Council).
• Enhanced DBS with update service (assistance provided).
• Level 2 Safeguarding training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with behavioural needs.
• Build trust and consistency in relationships with the student.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Use sports and student interests to engage learning.
• Work closely with teachers and SEN professionals to track progress.

1:1 Behaviour Support & Sports Coach

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant to pupil with additional learning needs within a specialist SEN setting.

This is a rewarding role which involves working closely with a student who requires consistent, patient, and nurturing support to help them engage positively with learning, develop social skills, and achieve their full potential.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a student with additional behavioural needs


• Build a positive and professional relationship based on trust and consistency


• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies


• Use sports, physical activities, and students interests to engage and motivate learning


• Work closely with teachers and SEN professionals to support student progress

We are looking for

• Sports coaches, PE graduates, athletes, personal trainers or individuals with mentoring experience


• Interest in sports (football, basketball, rugby, netball, tennis etc)


• Activity-lead


• A resilient, patient and positive attitude


• Previous experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential

Requirements

• Eligible to work in the UK


• Over the age of 18


• Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration


• Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the update service(Teaching Personnel will help you obtain this!)


• Level 2 Safeguarding training (provided)


• At least two professional references covering a 24-month period

(Don’t worry, Teaching Personnel will guide and support you through the process)
