Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Carmarthen is seeking a Behaviour Support Mentor to help pupils with SEMH, ALN, behaviour and autism/ADHD.

Role is full-time, term-time only, Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pm, starting September 2026. No evenings or weekends. Join a specialist educational provision and make a positive impact daily.

Qualifications

  • Compassionate, resilient and motivated individuals sought to support SEMH and ALN needs.
  • Experience with autism and ADHD is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils during lessons and learning activities
  • Delivering 1:1 and small-group support
  • Helping young people regulate emotions and develop positive coping strategies
  • Supporting outdoor learning, enrichment and practical activities
  • Accompanying pupils on educational visits and off-site activities
  • Supporting community-based learning and life-skills development
  • Encouraging independence, communication and social development
  • Working closely with teachers, support staff and external agencies
  • Recording observations and contributing to pupil progress and wellbeing plans

What You'll Be Doing

As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you'll play a key role in helping pupils engage in education and achieve positive outcomes.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils during lessons and learning activities

  • Supporting outdoor learning, enrichment and practical activities
