Job summary

Aspire People are seeking Behaviour Mentors to support children and young people with SEMH, behavioural and emotional needs across education settings in the Manchester area.

We welcome candidates with transferable experience from youth work, mentoring, residential support or community projects. The role focuses on building relationships, managing challenging situations and promoting positive behaviour in education settings.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in SEMH or behavioural settings.
• Ability to build positive relationships and manage challenging behaviour.
• Good safeguarding understanding and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 mentoring
• Lead small-group mentoring sessions
• Support young people with SEMH and behavioural needs
• Build consistent relationships with pupils
• Help pupils re-engage with education
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Provide pastoral and mentoring support
• Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence

Behaviour Mentor - Youth Work & SEMH

Aspire People are looking for Behaviour Mentors to support children and young people with SEMH, behavioural and emotional needs across a range of education settings.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have transferable professional experience from youth work, mentoring, alternative provision, residential support, community projects or similar roles.

You don't necessarily need to have previously worked as a Teaching Assistant. What matters is your experience working with young people and your ability to build relationships, manage difficult situations and encourage positive behaviour.

The Role:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring
• Supporting young people with SEMH and behavioural needs

• Helping pupils re-engage with education
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
