Job summary

Aspire People is partnering with Primary and Specialist SEND schools in Wigan to appoint confident, resilient Behaviour Mentors and SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEMH needs, autism or behavioural challenges. You’ll work 1:1 or in small groups, building positive relationships, promoting emotional regulation and helping pupils access learning so they can thrive in the classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEMH needs is preferred.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups to access learning.

• Collaborate with teaching staff to plan and deliver activities.

Are you a Sports Coach, Youth Worker, Residential Support Worker or Behaviour Mentor looking to take your skills into education?

Aspire People is working in partnership with a number of Primary and Specialist SEND schools across Wigan who are looking to appoint confident, resilient and enthusiastic Behaviour Mentors and SEMH Teaching Assistants to start with them this term.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children who require additional emotional and behavioural support to succeed in school.

The Role

You’ll work closely with pupils who may have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism or behavioural challenges, supporting them on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. Your role will be to build positive relationships, promote emotional regulation and help pupils overcome barriers to learning so they can thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

This role would suit candidates with experience as a:

• Sports Coach
• Youth Worker
• Residential Support Worker
• Behaviour Mentor
• Children’s Support Worker
• Psychology Graduate
• Teaching Assistant with behaviour experience
