Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting Behaviour Mentors to support children and young people across a range of primary and secondary settings. The role emphasises 1:1 and small-group mentoring to help pupils re-engage with education and develop positive behaviours.

We welcome candidates with experience as Youth Mentors, Behaviour Mentors, Youth Workers or Pastoral Support Workers who are confident managing challenging behaviour and committed to safeguarding pupils.

Behaviour Mentor - Youth & Pastoral Experience

Aspire People are recruiting Behaviour Mentors to support children and young people across a range of primary and secondary settings.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have previously worked as Youth Mentors, Behaviour Mentors, Pastoral Support Workers, Youth Workers or in similar roles supporting young people with behavioural, emotional or social needs.

The Role:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
• Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
• Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
• Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive behaviours
• Supporting pupils to re-engage with education
• Delivering mentoring and pastoral interventions
• Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
• Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams and SENCOs

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous professional experience supporting children or young people
• Experience as a Youth Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Pastoral Worker or similar
• Confident supporting challenging behaviour
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Calm, patient and consistent approach
• Understanding of boundaries and positive behaviour strategies
• Passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning
