Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting Behaviour Mentors with a background in sport, coaching or youth development to support children and young people across education settings.

This is an ideal role for Sports/Football/PE Coaches or Youth Workers who focus on positive relationships and activities to engage learners and support behaviour in both primary and secondary settings.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sports Coach, Football Coach, PE Coach, Youth Worker or similar.
• Professional experience working with children or young people.
• Confident managing groups and individual pupils.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, energetic and resilient.
• Comfortable supporting challenging behaviour.
• Able to establish positive relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Passionate about helping young people develop confidence and positive behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring.
• Supporting pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs.
• Using sport and activities to build positive relationships.
• Acting as a positive role model for pupils.
• Supporting emotional regulation and confidence.
• Helping pupils develop teamwork, resilience and communication skills.
• Encouraging pupils to engage positively with education.
• Supporting behaviour strategies and school expectations.
• Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff and SENCOs.
• Supporting pupils during lessons, breaks and extracurricular activities.

Aspire People are recruiting Behaviour Mentors with a background in sport, coaching or youth development to support children and young people across education settings.

This is an ideal opportunity for a Sports Coach, Football Coach, PE Coach, Youth Worker or similar professional who enjoys using positive relationships, activities and shared interests to engage young people and support their behaviour.

You do not need to have previously worked as a Teaching Assistant. We are interested in candidates with strong professional experience working with children and young people.

The Role
