Aspire People is recruiting experienced Behaviour Mentors and Pastoral Support Workers to support pupils across primary schools. The role involves aiding pupils with behavioural and emotional needs, delivering mentoring, and helping students build confidence and resilience.

The ideal candidate will have school-based experience, strong communication and relationship-building skills, and a calm, patient approach to behaviour support. Opportunities include long-term placements with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Previous professional experience in a school or education setting.
• Experience as a Behaviour Mentor or Teaching Assistant.
• Experience supporting SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Confident working one-to-one.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Strong boundary setting and positive behaviour strategies.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support pupils with behaviour and emotional regulation.

• Monitor behaviour and report to school staff.

Behaviour Mentor - School & Pastoral Experience

Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities | Aspire People

Aspire People are recruiting experienced Behaviour Mentors and Pastoral Support Workers to work across a range of primary schools.

This role would suit someone who already has professional experience supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional or social needs and is confident building positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations.

The Role:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
• Supporting pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement
• Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
• Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
• Supporting behaviour management strategies
• Delivering mentoring and pastoral interventions
• Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence
• Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions and unstructured times
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
• Monitoring behaviour and providing feedback to school staff

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous professional experience within a school or education setting
• Experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Pastoral Support Worker, Learning Mentor or Teaching Assistant
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour
• Confident working on a 1:1 basis
• Calm, patient and consistent approach
• Strong understanding of boundaries and positive behaviour strategies
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
