Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking an experienced Behaviour Specialist for a secondary school in the Barnoldswick area. The role focuses on supporting pupils outside the mainstream classroom, helping them manage behaviour, re-engage with education and make progress.

You will work with pupils who may display challenging behaviour or require social, emotional and behavioural support, in a 1:1 or small-group setting, alongside staff and leaders.

Qualifications

• Experience in secondary schools or behaviour/inclusion settings.
• Background in alternative provision or PRUs is advantageous.
• Experience with SEND or SEMH settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated support to pupils outside the classroom.
• 1:1 and small-group support; manage the classroom in the teacher's absence.
• Support pupils struggling to engage with mainstream lessons.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
• Help pupils develop strategies to manage behaviour and emotions.
• Assist reintegration of pupils back into lessons when appropriate.
• Manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams and senior leaders.
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and attendance.
