Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor for an Alternative Provision in Dudley. You will provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for KS3/KS4 pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and engage more effectively in lessons.

The role requires a calm, proactive approach to manage challenging behaviour and build strong relationships. The position offers weekly pay, CPD opportunities, and ongoing consultant support.

Qualifications

  • Experience with KS3/KS4 in an Alternative Provision or similar setting.
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • Calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations.
  • Reliable and committed to a long-term role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs.
  • Support pupils in lessons and alternative learning environments.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies.
  • Build positive relationships to improve engagement and attendance.
  • Help pupils regulate emotions and re-engage with learning.
  • Monitor behaviour and progress, sharing feedback with staff.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, resilience and social development.
  • Collaborate with staff to implement behaviour support plans.

Behaviour Mentor – Dudley (Clean driving licence and access to a car is essential)

£110-£115 per day • Start Date: ASAP • Contract: Full-time, long-term temp-to-perm (Full Academic Year)

Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join an Alternative Provision in Dudley, supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

About the Role
  • Providing targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
  • Supporting students within lessons and in alternative learning environments
  • Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies
  • Building strong, positive relationships to improve engagement and attendance
  • Supporting pupils to regulate emotions and successfully re-engage with learning

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Experience working with KS3 and KS4 pupils, ideally within an Alternative Provision or similar setting
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

  • Able to build trust and rapport while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries
  • Reliable and committed to a long-term role
