Job summary

Thames Water is recruiting a Battery and Generator Maintenance Team Leader to oversee maintenance of critical assets and ensure readiness to support operations during power disruptions. This role focuses on contract oversight, safety, compliance and performance standards within a diverse portfolio.

You will lead cross-functional teams, conduct site audits, and drive continuous improvement across resilience processes, delivering measurable benefits to customers and the environment.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering and maintenance principles.
• Strong understanding of asset management and quality assurance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• IT literacy, including maintenance and contract management systems.

Responsibilities

• Contract Management and Delivery Oversight: You will oversee contractor performance, ensuring all maintenance activities are delivered to agreed standards, timelines and budgets while fostering positive and collaborative working relationships.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: You will implement and monitor quality assurance processes and compliance across contracted works, manage performance reporting and ensure risks are identified, addressed and escalated where necessary.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Continuous Improvement: You will act as the primary interface between Thames Water supervisors and contractor organisations, supporting effective communication, collaboration and timely resolution of issues while encouraging continuous improvement.
