Job summary

Thames Water is expanding its Power Resilience capability and is seeking a Battery and Generator Contract Supervisor to ensure auxiliary power assets are operationally ready by supervising day-to-day maintenance activities carried out by contractors. Base location is flexible for London or Thames Valley (e.g., Hampton, Reading, Basingstoke).

Qualifications

• Experience supervising or coordinating contractor teams in mechanical engineering and/or maintenance.
• Strong understanding of maintenance procedures and safety standards.
• Demonstrable experience in quality checking, compliance monitoring and escalation.
• Further qualifications in contract management or asset management (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Quality and Compliance: You will check the quality of completed maintenance work, ensuring compliance with procedures, safety standards and service requirements.
• Contractor Oversight and Support: You will provide guidance and support to contractor teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Problem Solving: You will use judgement and analysis to resolve issues, elevate concerns and optimise resource use.
• Communication and Stakeholder Coordination: You will exchange information with contractors, colleagues and stakeholders with tact and diplomacy to support smooth on-site delivery and timely issue resolution.
