GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC seeks a Battery Controls Engineer to develop robust embedded software for the HV battery management system. You will implement real-time control algorithms for protection, SoC, and SoH, working with sensors, CAN/Ethernet, and diagnostics.

Requirements include an advanced degree or equivalent experience, strong C/C++ and RTOS skills, and knowledge of HV battery physics and control loops. Team-focused with a high-performance motorsport mindset.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related discipline, or Bachelor's with 5+ years in embedded software.
• Expertise in battery management systems and battery control algorithms (protection/derating, SoC, SoH).
• Familiarity with HV battery physics and operation, high voltage bus networks.
• Strong C programming, RTOS experience, both handwritten and auto-generated code.
• Experience with CAN, CAN FD, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART and real-time diagnostics.

Responsabilités

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded software in C, C++, and real-time languages for HV battery management.
• Implement sensor data acquisition, HALs, real-time comms, and diagnostics features.
• Collaborate with controls and electrical hardware teams for cohesive operation.
• Perform MiL/SiL/HiL testing, trackside verification, and maintain documentation.
