GM Performance Power Units is seeking a Battery Controls Engineer to join our ERS team in Concord, NC. You will develop and optimize embedded software for the HV battery management system and drive high‑fidelity control algorithms used in Formula 1 hybrid powertrains.

The role emphasizes real‑time programming, safety standards, and collaboration with controls and hardware teams to deliver robust, testable software across MiL/SiL/HiL environments.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems.
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in embedded software development, automotive or motorsport.

Responsabilités

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded software in C/C++ for HV battery management.
• Implement sensor data acquisition, HALs, real-time comms, and diagnostics features.
• Collaborate with controls and hardware teams to ensure cohesive system operation.
• Conduct software debugging, verification, and validation including MiL/SiL/HiL & trackside testing.
• Create requirements and unit tests to form robust, clean, scalable code bases.
