Job summary

Novus, the prison education provider within the LTE Group, is recruiting a Barbering Teacher to deliver barbering education at HMP Durham on a permanent, part-time basis (18.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday afternoons).

The successful candidate will hold a teaching qualification with a commitment to obtain the relevant specialist qualification within 12 months, plus Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy, and will create engaging learning environments that motivate learners and meet quality targets.

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Durham, working as a Barbering Teacher. This role is offered on a permanent, part-time basis, working 18.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday afternoons.

HMP Durham is a Category B men's prison located in Durham, England. The teams aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

To be successful in this role, you will need to:
