We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Lindholme, working as a Barbering & Peer Mentor Teacher. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Lindholme is located near Hatfield Woodhouse in South Yorkshire. It operates as a Category C to accommodate male prisoners. The teams aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Hold a teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
  • Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Have experience in creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
  • Have previous track record showing achievement of quality targets
  • Have successfully produced accurate and timely reports
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Can motivate and enthuse learners
  • Have organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets
  • Demonstrate positive team working
