Job summary

The Grand Hotel Birmingham Limited is seeking a Bar Host to join Madeleine, an award-winning hotel bar in a Grade II* listed building on Colmore Row, Birmingham. You will welcome guests, manage reservations and help create a seamless guest journey with a warm, professional hospitality approach.

Typical shifts run 15:00-23:00 or 16:00-00:00, across weekdays, evenings, weekends and bank holidays, with potential for additional hours based on business needs.

Qualifications

• A warm, genuine personality with hospitality mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Experience in hospitality is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm and memorable first impression for every guest.
• Manage reservations from enquiry to arrival, seating and potential rebooking.
• Confirm bookings, dietary requirements and special requests in advance.
• Coordinate reservations, walk-ins and table availability to maximise covers.
• Support Food & Beverage team to ensure smooth service at Madeleine.
