Exciting opportunities have arisen following a review of the provision of mental health services for older people at West London NHS Trust. We are in the fortunate position of transforming and expanding our service to meet the needs of older people with mild to severe mental health needs. We are looking for dynamic, innovative staff to be part of a team that will work therapeutically to support older patients in their mental health recovery in the community.
We are recruiting one Band 7 Senior Nurse Practitioner based in Ealing. Assessments and interventions are delivered at patients’ homes, so flexibility is essential. Ealing has excellent public transport links; having a car or driving licence is not essential as most clinicians use the bus for visits. All travel expenses will be refunded on a monthly basis.
We invite applications from nurses who are dedicated, flexible, forward‑thinking, and possess clinical skills and experience in working therapeutically with older people with mental health difficulties.
The post is an ideal opportunity for an experienced nurse to build upon and advance their leadership and managerial skills. The focus of the role is to provide clinical leadership to the SOAMHS service and deputise for the team manager in the day‑to‑day running of this service. You will deliver assessments and therapeutic interventions designed to maximise patients’ independence, safety and wellbeing. Interventions will include education, individual work and group work, and will involve close collaboration with patients, carers, statutory and voluntary agencies, and within a multidisciplinary team. You will hold a complex caseload of patients.
The post holder will be based in the Ealing Community Team, undertaking home visits and meetings at the team base and other community sites.
