A mental health service provider is looking for a Band 6 Senior Management Accountant to support the Finance Manager and oversee financial management within the organisation. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in NHS management accounts and be CCAB or AAT qualified. This role allows for hybrid working, enabling flexibility in work locations, while contributing to critical financial processes that benefit our diverse patient population.

To support the Finance Manager in providing a comprehensive, customer focused, financial management service to a strategic clinical Division within the Trust by ensuring accurate, relevant, timely financial data and resource management is provided to team managers for budgetary control.
To support and lead on the preparation and monitoring of budgets and budget reports for their areas, and ensure robust financial management is maintained in the Trust.
Deputising for the Finance Manager and being the first point of contact for Budget Holders, this involves regular meetings with them to resolve queries and issues and feed information into financial forecasts.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in providing a comprehensive financial management and business support service to the CYP Division.
Produce and provide robust financial monitoring including budget setting, and various reporting requirements on a monthly basis such as month‑end, financial forecasting, delivery of savings and general financial performance.
Build relationships with non‑finance colleagues and work constructively to improve financial understanding and acumen with regards to budget management and value for money.
Work with non‑finance managers to track income and expenditure, obtain relevant financial information to support forecasting and any actions resulting in changes to forecasts.
Act as the first point of contact for Budget Holders – setting up regular meetings to resolve queries, provide financial performance feedback, and feed relevant information into forecasting.
Be an active member of the Finance Directorate contributing to its development.

This role gives the opportunity for hybrid working and you will typically be asked to work in a hybrid way, working from your home and also from Trust HQ The Uffculme Centre, or any other agreed site.

Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 a year, pro rata.
