A leading health service provider in Rayleigh is looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist with an option for Band 5 applicants ready for development. The role involves providing assessments and interventions in both one-to-one and group settings, while collaborating with various healthcare professionals. Candidates must have the necessary COVID vaccinations. Enjoy excellent benefits including 27 days of holiday, a generous pension plan, and opportunities for professional development.
While this is a Band 6 role, we are happy to consider applications from experienced and motivated Band 5 staff who feel ready to take on the challenge of a Band 5–6 development post.
You will be working as part of a small, friendly and skilful Occupational Therapy team to provide focused Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to clients through one‑to‑one and group work.
The OT team sits within the wider multi‑disciplinary teams providing holistic support for clients with complex and enduring mental health needs requiring secondary level mental health care.
The base of this role is in Rayleigh, but there will be an expectation to travel to other EPUT and community sites within the area. Working within this busy team environment you will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of clinical skills, including but not limited to undertaking OT assessments, care planning, delivering interventions through group and individual sessions, and the supervision and appraisal of junior staff.
The post holder will have access to professional supervision and leadership within the team and will be supported to access a range of relevant development and training opportunities to enhance their practice.
Applicants must have both COVID‑vaccinations unless exempt, as required by the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021.
Staff who are formally at risk within the organisation will be given priority in securing alternative employment. If a post advertised by the Trust is considered 'suitable alternative employment' for an individual at risk, the recruiting manager will be advised and the post may be withdrawn from NHS Jobs.
Our Trust is an Equal Opportunities Employer. We particularly welcome applications from people with experience of using mental health services and from those with learning or other disabilities. The Trust holds the Disability Two‑Tick symbol and has pledged to commit to employing more people with learning disabilities. Applicants requiring the application form in another format (e.g., Braille, audio tape) can contact the Recruitment Department to arrange a suitable format.
The Trust cares for more than 100,000 patients at any one time across our community health, mental health and learning disability services across Essex and parts of Bedfordshire and Suffolk. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults, and all staff will undertake robust safer recruitment processes.
The Trust may decide to expire vacancies prior to the closing date. Applicants who have not heard from us within three weeks of the closing date will be considered unsuccessful.
