Job description

We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team within a secure prison setting.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a challenging but rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll be delivering care to a diverse population, managing a wide range of physical and mental health needs alongside a multi-disciplinary team.

This is an exciting time to join us as the prison is preparing for a significant expansion in 2026, although we cannot guarantee, this role does open the door to potential permanent roles and career progression in the future.

It is full time at 37.5 hours with NHS AFC terms, it also includes enhancements for nights and weekends.

Main duties of the job
  • Assess individual care needs, implement, and evaluate holistic programmes of care
  • Treat all patients as individuals, listening to their concerns, and always respecting their privacy and dignity
  • Adhere to medicines management related activities in accordance with HCRG Care Group's medicines policy to ensure the safe, legal, and appropriate use of medicines
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary and collaborate team
  • Attend appropriate training and maintain competencies in all relevant areas

Ideal Candidate:

You will be a registered nurse with an NMC registration and previous experience of working in a hospital or custodial setting.

You will also have a keen interest in providing healthcare for our prison inpatients.
