Rate of pay: £12.31 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm

Location: Lagan Valley Hospital - Lisburn

As an Administrative and Clerical Officer, you'll provide essential administrative support across a variety of healthcare settings. You'll be an integral part of the team—responding to queries, managing your workload, meeting deadlines, and solving problems with initiative and care. In some areas, you'll be the first point of contact for patients, communicating with warmth, clarity, and empathy.

What You’ll Do
  • Input, update and maintain patient records on our electronic systems (such as Epic, PAS, Patient Centre)
  • Coordinate appointments and admissions, ensuring prioritisation according to clinical need
  • Prepare, process and upload important documents to keep our systems accurate and up to date
  • Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and wider teams including clinical staff and GP practices
  • Provide general administrative support including word processing, filing, scanning, handling emails, and managing enquiries
  • Take part in induction and support new colleagues, share knowledge and help foster a supportive environment
  • Assist with audits, reports and data accuracy, ensuring we meet performance and access targets
  • Attend meetings, take minutes where required, and contribute to team discussions and improvements
  • Participate in training and development relevant to your role and personal growth
What We’re Looking For
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Confidence using IT systems and databases
  • The ability to work well both independently and as part of a busy, professional team
  • A flexible and proactive attitude to problem‑solving
  • Commitment to delivering a patient‑focused, high‑quality service
