Job summary

Lancaster Resources Ltd is seeking a proactive IT Services Field Engineer to audit, document and optimize IT infrastructure across a global customer base. The role blends onsite IT support, hardware/software troubleshooting and proactive site audits to ensure compliance with organisational standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in IT support, strong Windows/AD/Office 365 knowledge, and a proven ability to manage audits and tasks across multiple sites, including Belfast.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in IT support, service desk, or field support engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with onsite IT setup, troubleshooting, and hardware installation.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple audit and support tasks.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to different sites (valid driver's license required).
• Familiarity with IT asset management tools.
• Degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Basic knowledge of network diagrams, patch panels, and structured cabling standards.
• Combination of office work, on-site inspections across customer locations & remote work.
• Autonomy to plan and manage workload across customer sites, the Belfast office and remote administration where appropriate.
• Occasionally working after-hours during planned upgrades or audit tasks; this will be paid separately.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site audits to assess and document IT infrastructure.
• Provide onsite IT support and hardware/software troubleshooting.
• Collaborate across customer sites to ensure compliance with standards.
• Plan and manage workload across Belfast office and remote sites.
• Assist with upgrades during planned maintenance windows (paid separately).
