Job summary

Based in Cardiff, Hawk Hiring seeks an experienced Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join a premium dealership team. You will perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs with state-of-the-art tools and processes.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with 1 in 4 Saturdays, 33 days holiday, and extensive family support. Training and career progression are backed by a leading UK automotive group.

Qualifications

• Qualified Vehicle Technician holding an industry-recognized qualification (NVQ/IMI Level 2 or Level 3 equivalent).
• Time-served workshop experience as a Vehicle Technician or Car Mechanic is required.
• F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, manufacturer safety inspections and complex mechanical repairs within targeted timescales.
• Utilize high-spec factory diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical faults.
• Follow structured brand processes to maintain high-quality, safe first-time fix results.
• Work productively to keep the workshop running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with your team to maintain a clean, safety-first workshop and use provided PPE.

Your Day-to-Day

Working as a core member of our technical team in Cardiff, you will:

• Collaborate with your team to maintain a clean, safety-first workshop while making full use of provided PPE.

What You Bring to the Table

• Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Vehicle Technician holding an industry-recognized qualification (NVQ/IMI Level 2 or Level 3 equivalent). Time-served workshop experience as a Vehicle Technician or Car Mechanic is required. F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
• The Mindset: A motivated, dedicated, and highly organized professional with a strong team mindset and keen attention to detail.
• Licensing: Full, valid UK driving licence is essential. An active MOT Tester licence is preferred but not required.

Our modern facility is based in Cardiff and is ideally situated for a quick and straightforward daily commute for anyone travelling from Newport, Penarth, Barry, Caerphilly, Pontypridd, Bridgend, Cwmbran, and the surrounding South Wales areas.
