Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking caring, resilient individuals to support pupils with autism in a dedicated school environment. You’ll deliver 1:1 and group activities, progress learners, and help with personal care as needed.

Part-time options (3–4 days) are available, with a welcome bonus and extensive training. The role offers progression opportunities and term-time working with on-site parking.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent.
• Experience (professional, personal or voluntary) with children and disabilities.
• Comfortable working with children who display challenging behaviour.
• Willingness to provide personal/intimate care when required.
• Ability to stay calm in high-pressure situations.
• Own transport is recommended due to location.

Responsibilities

• Provide teaching and support to pupils with autism following individualised curriculums.
• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons and activities, focusing on life skills.
• Support pupils' participation in trips and real-life applications of learning.
• Provide behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that impact quality of life.
• Provide personal care and assist with hygiene needs as required.
• Monitor pupil progress and ensure teaching meets pupil needs.
• Assist with breaktime duties including playground and snack-time support.
