Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade C/4 in English Language & Maths.
• Experience with children and disabilities.
• Ability to support personal care when required.
• Ability to stay calm in high-pressure situations.
• Own transport due to location.

Responsibilities

• Providing teaching and support to pupils with autism, following individualised curriculums.
• Planning, preparing and delivering lessons and activities, focusing largely on life skills.
• Supporting pupils' participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice.
• Providing behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that impact quality of life.
• Providing personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding).
• Monitoring pupil progress, ensuring teaching is appropriate and effective for pupil needs.
• Assisting with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time.
