Job summary

Randstad Education is partnering with a dedicated SEN school to recruit a Teaching Assistant focused on autistic pupils. You will work 1:1 with autistic students and help implement a personalised curriculum in a calm, resource-rich setting.

The role supports both primary and secondary students, with Forest School resources and a nurturing environment. It is term-time only, Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:15, offering on-the-job training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• The candidate should be able to support learners with diverse SEN needs.
• Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.
• Confidence to lead small groups and support in various subjects.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to education and teaching support.
• Experience in SEND is desirable but not essential.
• Right to work in the UK is required.
• GCSE Maths and English passes are expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the teacher as planned daily/weekly.
• Work 1:1 with students, supporting their individual plans.
• Deliver group or individual activities as planned by the teacher.
• Support learners to develop work and skills.
• Promote learners' wellbeing within the school's structure.
• Monitor and evaluate progress under teacher guidance.
• Assist teachers with classroom management and routines.
• Support learning across curriculum areas as required.
