Audit Assistant Manager or Manager - medium sized firm

Central London (hybrid)

Butler Rose Public Practice are delighted to be working with a well-established (nearly 100 years), medium-sized accountancy firm based in the heart of Central London. Known for combining traditional values with a modern approach, they're looking for an experienced Audit Assistant Manager or Manager to join their sizeable and highly successful audit and accounts team.

The role

You’ll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients, from ambitious owner-managed businesses to large international groups. No two days are the same, and you’ll have plenty of scope to make an impact - both with your clients and within the team.

Role Requirements

• Managing a diverse client portfolio and planning audit and accounts assignments.
• Building strong relationships with clients and being their go-to contact.
• Reviewing and presenting high-quality audit files and financial statements to partners.
• Coaching, mentoring, and appraising junior members of the team.
• Helping to improve processes and efficiencies within the audit function.
• Taking responsibility for budgets, deadlines, and client satisfaction.

Person Requirements

• ACA or ACCA qualified, with at least 3 years' post-qualified experience within a focused audit role, and currently working in the capacity of either assistant manager or manager for a well-established UK based accounting and audit firm.
• Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102, Companies Act, ISA standards, and Corporation Tax.
• Proven experience in leading a team as well as audit planning, risk assessment, and managing assignments through to completion.
• Experience working with international groups and consolidations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to advise clients confidently.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience coaching junior staff.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Competent with Excel and familiar with accounting/audit software such as CCH, ProAudit, Digita as well as cloud based accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks.
