Responsibilities

  • Manage studio equipment, room acoustics, and post-production workflows to deliver clean, crisp, professionally mixed recordings.
  • Oversee the entire audio production lifecycle from setup to editing, mixing, and mastering.
  • Collaborate with editorial teams to produce a diverse range of content, including weekly podcasts, narrative series, and live event recordings.
Qualifications
  • Deep technical knowledge of audio recording, mixing, and mastering principles, with hands-on experience with high-end studio microphones, mixing desks, and audio interfaces.
  • Strong skills in Adobe Audition and Pro Tools; experience with Descript is highly desirable.
  • Problem-solving ability and the capacity to work under pressure to deliver a high-quality product.
  • Familiarity with studio and field recording equipment, including microphones, mixers, and audio interfaces.
  • Ability to create standout audio content with a keen ear for sound design, music, and pacing.
  • Knowledge of the podcasting ecosystem, including hosting platforms (e.g., Acast, Libsyn), distribution, and analytics.
  • Understanding of how to package and promote audio content to maximise reach and engagement.
  • Strong news and cultural awareness with an understanding of the editorial voices of The Spectator, UnHerd, and Apollo.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively coach guests and hosts to achieve optimal performance.
  • Flexibility to work hours as needed and willingness to travel.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
Benefits
  • Training & Development.
  • 3% Employer Contribution Pension Scheme.
  • Generous Holiday Allowance with 25 days holiday per calendar year plus a birthday holiday and Bank Holiday Leave.
  • Discounts at Ground Floor restaurant and free pantry of tea & coffee, fruits & snacks for all staff.
