Job summary

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for an experienced Attendance Officer to join a secondary school in Kirkham on a full-time, temporary basis. Start ASAP and ongoing while required.

The role focuses on monitoring pupil attendance, following up absences, and maintaining accurate records using school systems. You will work with pastoral and safeguarding teams to support pupils and families to improve attendance.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Attendance Officer or similar school-based attendance role.
• Understanding of secondary school attendance procedures.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism.
• Proficiency with IT and school management systems.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record daily pupil attendance and absence.
• Follow up unexplained or persistent absences with parents.
