Job summary

Aspire People are currently recruiting an experienced Attendance Officer to join a welcoming secondary school in Bury, starting ASAP. This temporary role offers a long-term prospect with potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

You will monitor pupil attendance and punctuality, follow up absences, contact parents, maintain records and work with pastoral teams to reduce persistent absence while upholding safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience as Attendance Officer in an educational setting.
• Experience in a secondary school preferred.
• Strong safeguarding understanding.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced attendance professional looking for a long-term role, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working as an Attendance Officer within an educational setting, ideally within a secondary school environment. You will play a key role in monitoring and improving attendance, working closely with pupils, parents/carers, teaching staff and the wider pastoral team.

The Role

Requirements

• A DBS registered on the Update Service is required.
• References covering the last 2 years of employment/education are required.
• Previous experience in an attendance-focused role within a school or educational setting is essential.
